The head of the Department of Legal Affairs of the Imam Hussein holy shrine Mohammed Hussein El-Hekeem, stated that 37482 square meters of the surroundings have been considerately bought for the current project of expansion. He also mentioned to Noon News Agency that the Imam Hussein holy shrine would always spare no efforts towards considerately gaining the surroundings in order to expand the holy shrine which would grant pilgrims a better way of performing pilgrimage. Hussein Ibrahem En-Nadhoor, a jurist of the Imam Hussein holy shrine stated that there were many suitcases of gaining property being legally processed according to the law of gaining property of 1982.
