The head of the Islamic Advisory Council League of Sunnie Religious Scholars, El-Kubaisi, said that sayyid Es-Systani's verdict of Jihad (holy war) against ISIS came when Iraq needed it the most.
He said that during a visit he made to the Imam Hussein Holy Shrine, accompanied by some members of the league. He also said, "Were it not for the verdict of Jihad, we would not be able to liberate our areas, and we would be under the control of ISIS."
He said further that they were treated humanitarianly by the Popular Mobilization Forces, which is exactly the opposite of what the mass media talk about. He then mentioned that Iraqi people are tied by nationality, religion, and country. He also indicated that in Anbar city, they began preaching people about how dangerous ISIS thoughts are, and Sunnie Muslims should commemorate the occasions known in Islam as well as the Husseinian ritualas. .
