Muslims commemorate Imam El-Hasan El-Eskeri's martyrdom anniversary

In the commemoration of the martyrdom of Imam El-Hasan El-Eskeri (Peace Be Upon Him); the eleventh Imam, the holy city of Kerbala witnessed many processions marching into the Imam Hussein Holy Shrine, carrying a symbolic coffin and circumambulating the lattice-enclosed tomb of Imam Hussein (Peace Be Upon Him).

Imam El-Hasan El-Eskeri was murdered by the El-Mu'tamad El-Ebbasi, one of the Abbasid rulers, by giving him poison. Muslims, therefore, annually commemorate this tragedy at the holy shrine of Imam El-Hasan El-Eskeri, located in Samarra city - North Iraq.
