The Architectural and Engineering Project Department of the Imam Hussein Holy Shrine has stated that many projects have been suspended due to the financial crisis. The department has recently set out an instant plan to maintain funding the most important projects such as the ones that provide pilgrims with free services.
They also mentioned that the financial crisis Iraq is confronting nowadays has affected the budget of the Imam Hussein Holy Shrine, but sheikh Abdul-Mehdi El-Kerbala’i, Secretary-General of the Imam Hussein Holy Shrine, and some intelligentsia worked it out by depending on other financial resources; the money thrown inside the lattice-enclosed tomb of Imam Hussein (Peace Be Upon Him) is one of those resources.
