El-Karbala'i: Islamic Supreme Religious Authority Condemns Recent Attacks In Adhamiya

May 15, 2015. Second part of the Friday Sermon held in the Imam Hussein Holy Shrine, the representative of the Islamic Supreme Religious Authority and the preacher of the Friday Sermon in Karbala city, His Eminence Sheikh Abdul-Mehdi El-Karbala'i mentioned two important issues:

First:

The Islamic Supreme Religious Authority condemned the recent attacks that took place in Adhamiya and commended the rapid engagement by the Iraqi Security Forces and their efforts in controlling the situation.

However, there are numerous terrorist attacks occurring in Baghdad on a daily basis which result in the killing of many Iraqi civilians. The motive behind such violence is to raise hatred and sectarianism as well as introduce fear in the hearts of the citizens.

For this reason, political leaders and media corporations are requested to deal with such events at the level of national and religious responsibility. Due to the fact, that the country is in a sensitive situation that requires every little attention to achieve the desired results and outcomes.

Furthermore, there are numerous Iraqi cities that sustain citizens of various faiths and religions, yet they live in harmony and peace. Such unity is clear evidence that the people of this great nation are unionized by their love for their country and their care for one another.

Second:

El-Karbala'i requested from the Iraqi government to examine the reasons that led to the fall of Mosul and other Iraqi city in the hand of the terrorist group ISIS. These events resulted in the killing of many innocent citizens, brave soldiers, and volunteers as well as drained the financial resources of the country.

Therefore, this examination requires the development of a comprehensive plan to rebuild the Iraqi military institutions; free of personal agenda and corruption.

Nonetheless, El-Karbala'i requests from the government and the wealthy individuals to support the displaced families as well as the families of the martyrs who sacrificed their lives for the sake of country.
