The Secretary-General of the El-Abbas Holy Shrine, His Eminence Sayyed Ahmed Es-Safi participated in the opening ceremony of Karbala's International Book Exhibition along with the Secretary-General Advisor of the Imam Hussein Holy Shrine, Sayyed Afdhal El-Shami.
A Holy Shrine correspondent indicated the participation of over 117 local, Arab, as well as international publishing agencies.
Misar El-Hakim, Exhibition Supervisor stated that the most prominent agencies participating this year are from Great Britain, Egypt, Jordan, Lebanon, Palestine, Syria, United Arab Emirates, and Iran.
Nonetheless, the displayed books and themes in the exhibition varied from literary books to cultural, educational, religious, artistic, scientific, medical, historical, political, engineering, economic, and psychological books as well as multilingual dictionaries.
It is also significant to note that this year's Book Exhibition is a part of the 11th Global Annual Martyrdom Spring Conference hosted by the Imam Hussein and El-Abbas Holy Shrines which coincides with the birth anniversary of Imam Hussein, El-Abbas, and Imam Es-Sajjad (Peace Be Upon Them).
