Imam Hussain Holy Shrine Activates Advanced Medical Plan for Ashura

The Health and Medical Education Authority of the Imam Hussain Holy Shrine has announced the completion of its medical preparations for the tenth of Muharram, confirming that all of its healthcare institutions and medical, nursing, and emergency personnel have entered a state of full readiness to provide treatment and emergency services to visitors arriving in Holy Karbala to commemorate Ashura.

In a statement obtained by the official website, the authority said that "the Health and Medical Education Authority of the Imam Hussain Holy Shrine has completed its medical preparations for the tenth of Muharram, placing all of its healthcare institutions and medical, nursing, and emergency personnel on full alert to ensure the highest level of treatment and emergency services for visitors arriving in Holy Karbala to commemorate Ashura."

The statement explained that "this year's medical plan relies on the latest technologies and smart systems to ensure rapid response to emergency cases and improve the efficiency of healthcare services. Electronic tracking devices have been deployed for paramedics and emergency teams, enabling real-time monitoring of their locations and directing the nearest team to each incident, helping reduce response times and provide faster assistance to injured patients."

It added that "the plan includes deploying specialized medical and emergency teams along the various routes leading to the Imam Hussain Holy Shrine, supported by the latest cardiopulmonary resuscitation equipment, defibrillators, oxygen cylinders, and fully equipped medical units prepared to respond to a wide range of emergency cases."

The statement continued that "the authority has also assigned specialized teams to handle critical cases, disasters, and crowd management, while linking medical units and treatment centers to a modern field monitoring system that enhances coordination between medical and emergency teams and enables rapid decision-making during the mass pilgrimage."

It confirmed that "all personnel are working around the clock under a comprehensive medical plan, in coordination with healthcare institutions and supporting agencies, to provide the highest standards of healthcare for visitors, reflecting the Imam Hussain Holy Shrine's commitment to employing the latest capabilities and technologies in serving mourners during the Ashura commemorations with the highest level of readiness and efficiency."
