Figures from 35 countries attend closing ceremony of 13th Martyrdom Spring International Cultural Festival

 

The 13th Martyrdom Spring International Cultural Festival, held by the Imam Hussein and the El-Abbas Holy Shrines on the anniversary of the blessed births of Imam Hussein and El-Abbas (Peace Be Upon Them), has closed on 4 May 2017.

 

The festival, this year, has witnessed participations by academicians; educationists; clerics of various religions and religious denominations; politicians; scholars; and litterateurs from 35 countries: Argentina, the United States, Spain, Turkey, Croatia, France, Poland, Germany, Ireland, Albania, Indonesia, Bangladesh, Pakistan, Syria, Afghanistan, the Philippines, Thailand, India, Libya, Ivory Coast, Morocco, Algeria, Mauritania, Ghana, Burkina Faso, Tunisia, Egypt, Tanzania, Senegal, Cameroon, Iran, and Kuwait.

 

A stately ceremony was held at which sheikh Abdul-Mehdi El-Kerbela’e, custodian of the Imam Hussein Holy Shrine, delivered a speech in behalf of the Imam Hussein and the El-Abbas Holy Shrines, followed by a speech delivered by the secretary-General of the El-Kadhimya Holy Shrine Dr. Jemal Ed-Debbagh.

 

A poem was delivered, a Quran recitation performed, an animation video played, which showed the story of El-Abbas’ (Peace Be Upon Him) martyrdom, followed by rewarding 20 families of those who lost their loved ones during the war against ISIS, in addition to rewarding all the participating figures in the festival.
