Friday, November 23, 2018, representative of the Shia Muslim Supreme Religious Authority, sheikh Abdul-Mehdi AlKarbala’ey delivered Friday’s sermon at the Imam Hussain Shrine in which he talked about the reason behind advanced and prosperous societies.

AlKarbala’ey said, “A society’s culture is typical of its successful professional performance components,” adding that it is important to appreciate culture and love of work.

He added that some successful societies have achieved top levels of development, advancement, welfare, and prosperity, although they are religiously unsubscribed, but such people deem work sanctified.

AlKarbala’ey noted that if the society’s education, family, occupation, and media establishments educate the members of the society on love and respect for work, they become successful and able to develop and prosper.

He stressed the need for persistent work to educate the society, starting from family, saying: “From family to the concerned establishments within the society, we hope that education on the principle of love for work and that work is sanctified starts, so that everyone in the society should be prompted toward work; otherwise, the society is going to be inactive and sluggish—that’s going to deteriorate the society, make it fall behind other societies, and unable to utilize the country’s natural resources and workforce.”

AlKarbala’ey concluded, calling on the society’s establishments to instill the principle of love for work and respect for the administrative systems and procedures in people, noting that people can learn voluntarily and, sometimes, through procedures that can accustom them to the love and momentum toward work.
