Karbala International Airport: Capacity of one part expanded from 2 million to 6 million travelers a year

The media director of Karbala International Airport, Hasan Ejjerrah, confirmed that Karbala International Airport project is still underway, and they are now building the third floor of the tower, noting that the seventh floor will be achieved at the end of December 2018.

He added that the tower, which will be 18 floors: 64 meters high, will be achieved in June 2019.

Steven Stanson – project director – said the capacity of the airport, after achieving its three phases, will be 48 million travelers a year.

Iraqi National Investment Commission Sami El’Ereaji said the project is continuing according the timeline set forth, noting that some phases may be achieved earlier than the timeline and the capacity of the achieved building of the first phase was then expanded from 2 million to 6 million travelers a year.
